BASA-Q is NDIS-Friendly

We know that for many neurodiverse families, books need to withstand more than just a single read. We have engineered our books to be "classroom tough" for the home environment:

  • Tactile & Durable: Printed on extra-thick 130 gsm interior paper with a heavy 350 gsm cover. These books are designed for "rough handling" and repeated use without tearing or curling.

  • Sensory-Minded: Our high-quality paper reduces glare and provides a sturdy, tactile experience that is easier for small hands to navigate.

  • The Parent's Roadmap: Every book includes built-in discussion questions. Simply go to the back of the book for ways to engage meaningfully with your child, using the book to discuss and express emotions.

The "Reasonable & Necessary" Link

To be claimable, the book/s should relate to the participant's goals. Common goals the BASA-Q series supports include:

  • Improving literacy and reading comprehension.

  • Building social-communication skills through guided discussion.

  • Developing emotional regulation and self-advocacy.

Most families claim these under Core Supports or Capital Supports:

  • Low-Cost Assistive Technology (Level 1): For items under $1,500 that support communication, cognitive tasks, or learning (e.g., Line Item: 03_222100911_124_1_1).

  • Consumables: Under \"Daily Adaptive Equipment\" or \"Low-Cost Communication Aids.\"

What to do next: Ask your Plan Manager to purchase the bundles for you, or buy the bundles and request reimbursement from your Plan Manager using your BASA-Q Tax Invoice.

Anti-Bullying Alignment: Through story, our novellas support positive anti-bullying culture by encouraging empathy, help-seeking, safe boundaries and community support — without personal disclosure or diagnostic framing.
